Scotts writing is amazing regardless! - I personally think Midnighters and Uglies are probably the best but Peeps and The last Days are awesome too, I devoured them one sitting.

Sounds OK, but it looks like, according to the other comments, that Uglies is better.

PEEPS is really good but the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld is even better. It has the little romance that peeps misses out on and it has such a good story line. If you loved peeps you will die for Uglies, Pretties and Specials!

i love scott weserfield's writing style, though i have to say after just finnishing reading the uglies series and then the peeps i'll admit i prefer the uglies. thats not to say though that the peeps is awesome especially the idea that its a parisite. i love the twilight series by setephenie meyer which is about vampires too so im kind of going through a vampire phase...

Ive read all of scott westerfeld's books except for the risen empire which i am halfway through now.

My favourite series peeps-lastdays, uglies and midnighters

Aww that sucks Laura! I know, I've read all the Scott Westerfeld my library has :(

GRRRRRR..

*chucks spack*

The book of the month is by one of my favourite authors and so what happens? My libraries DON'T HAVE IT.

*goes off to throw another tanty*

Hyenas + Parasites + Vampires... who wouldn't want to read that?! LOL :)

Hey Scott,
Does that mean there is actually going to be a third Peeps (so to speak)? Please say yes!

Hey, all. Glad you enjoyed PEEPS! Especially, the parasite chapters, which are my favorite part. (for one thing, I didn't have to make anything up. Those non-fic writers have it easy.)

If you want to read more about parasites, you should definitely check out a book called Parasite Rex, by Carl Zimmer. It's where I got almost all of the parasite info in Peeps.

Zimmer also has a blog: http://www.scienceblogs.com/loom/
And a recent article about hyena brains!

Hmm. Maybe the third book in the Peeps series (The Last Days is the second one) should include hyenas . . .

Anyway, I'll drop back in sometime soon.

ciao for now-

Peeps was my first Scott Westerfeld book. I loved it, and not being a sci-fi fan, this really surprised me. I've now read the sequel, The Last Days and the Pretties, Uglies and Specials series. I've just bought another of Scott's books, So Yesterday and can't wait to get stuck into it.

When Scott westerfeld tells the people on his blog about blogging here, be prepared for a massive amount of hits.

I love peeps and i own all of Scott Westerfeld's YA books. ther all really good!

Peeps! I love Peeps, funny thing is I just finished reading it last week, it's sitting beside my right now. It's a fantastic book. I really like a good vampire story and this was so much more than good. It's very original which is great, it's so refreshing when people have the guts to break away from all the cliche myths.
I liked all the parasite info through out the book too (it's been more helpful than my biology teacher!).
I'm with Lisa - will there be any continuation of Peeps? Because I will be thrilled if there is.

I love Peeps, I read it a few months ago and it really got me wanting to read all of Scott Westerfeld's books I could get my hands on!

I liked how the story is mixed in with the info about parasites, its the kind of way you pick up general knowledge without realising it. Kind of yucky though :)

I've read The Last Days as well, will there be any more books set with the peeps? Hope so!

xoxo
