Sarah Dessen is a godsend.
Her books are always so relatable and cause major insomnia.
I can never seem to put them down.

Just Listen was so great i thought the story with Whitney was pretty heart-breaking & i thought Owen was fantastic!
I love all of Sarah's books and I am so excited to read Along For The Ride.

'Everything looks perfect from such great heights' (Iron and Wine) this is so true and this book just reinforces that. Things are not as they seem- i need to remember that.

Sarah Dessen is basically a God.
If I'm ever down, bored, lazy, in a good mood, it doesn't matter, her books suit me any way and out.
The characters speak out so well.
Also, her books don't only appeal to well, teens. My 50-something school library teacher has read and loved all of her books.

I absolutely loved this book. I read it last year and it was the second book I had read of Sarah's and I loved every moment of it. The story line was great and so were the characters. Sarah if it wasn't for you and your book I wouldn't be a reader, so thank you so much.
If you want a good read i highly recommend this book plus all Sarah Dessen's other books (I have read them all :)).
They are truly amazing!!

I agree with Teapea... I enjoyed the book, but not as much as I felt I should have.

I kinda like Dessen's writing matter, though. Must read a few more of her works.

Hey! Just wanted to post and say how much I adored Just Listen! Everything Owen said in regards to music and life was just picture perfect! Thanks so much!

i thought this was the best book i have ever read! Sarah Dessen is absolutely amazing!

actually, i was very dissapointed with 'Just listen'.
i thought it didnt have enough substance and was too inclined to just lead the reader though the story rather than let us do the exploring and imagining..
there in lies the magic of stalwarts such as Twilight and HP!
i did like the cover of Just Listen though...

Oh my god! I loved Just Listen. I've practically read all your books Sarah except for two because my library doesn't stock it. Just want to say what a fantastic writer you are and that you must continue writing. You capture the emotions of a teenage girl perfectly - it's just as if your the girl next door.

aaaahhhh to ashen and jacob.
i completely adore twilight and the cullen's!!!
however i am a major major fan of meg rosoff too. i read her new book called what i was (i think) the one about the boat shed by the sea and was totally awesomeeee but my favourites are her old ones how i live now and justin case. very clever and so well writtn, my favourite kind of writing style.

Thanks, Kira. I really appreciate it!

I LOVE THIS BOOK last year we were taken in to the libary to chose a book to read in english and i loved it and told all my freinds o read it but there not muh of reders them elfs but they dont know what there missing out on

Hi Everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words about Just Listen. It's a book I'm really proud of and I couldn't be happier that people have responded to to it so much. I think of Owen every time I put on my iPod (especially when I'm playing something really cheesy that I KNOW he would not approve of). :)

How long is a month?!

O, and i did really love Just Listen. It's probably the best teenage 'issue' sort of book I've read in a while. The cover is probably what grabbed me the most, i really like covers that are dramatically black with images printed on them (like Stephenie Meyer's books!) I also have really loved her other books Dreamland and Last Chance.

I've read 'The Host'. It took a little while to get into, sort of like Twilight at the very start, because they both were a bit confusing and slow. But after you get over that speed bump it's just as good as Twilight, only with aliens instead of vampires...

I am a huge Meg Rossoff fan too! I just finished reading How I Live Now and just loved it. Now I have started sinking my teeth into her other books Just In Case and What I Was now... I highly recommend it if you have'nt read it yet. They are awesome.

Yeah I totally agree with Ashen. And not just because shes super cool and is my best friend either.
I've read nearly all of her books, and Twilight isn't even in the top 100. The book is just basically pages filled with detail. So much, you need to give the reader the creditability to use their imagination.

Meg Rosoff, now theres a brilliant writer. Me and Ashen are her number 1 fans :)

And the Twilight books aren't everything they've cracked up to be. I mean its so over rated, all the girls fantising about their vampire Cullen to come and rescue them from their boring lives. Not going to happen. And its not even a good read. Its too detailed and the story plots are predictable. A cullen boy needs to die, I think Emmet would be the most likely. And Jasper needs to bite Bella, not Edward. That would totally shake things up.
Anyone read 'The Host'?

This book is actually my favourite, out of my personal library collection (around 340 books)
Its really depective and detailed, I love just losing my identity and becoming the main charater, especially when they type in that first person (or whatever its called) format.
I can relate to the blurb thing. The first 2 pages and the blurb have to be brilliant otherwise I save it for when I'm bored. And I'm really into front covers, but usually only judge it by what type of book it is (eg, romance, thriller, et cetera.)
I'm only 15 but I've read so many books- and this was the best :)

LOL! Twilight was actually the book I had in mind when I made that comment! It totally spoils all the mystery and suspense building up in the entire first section!

yeah thats true. a lot of blurbs put too much information, like with the book twilight by stephenie meyer (awesome awesome awesome) it gives too much away, like information your supposed to find out in like, almost the middle of the story!

Yes, he was totally gorgeous :)

I don't have the same problem as you with blurbs because I rarely read them! I tend to either judge a book by its cover or if I've heard it mentioned somewhere I will give it a go... I prefer trying something out and finding out if I do or don't like it then having major chunks of the story revealed to me before I've even begun!

gah i just love this book!! i loved how she made reference to the band 'truth squad' and the characters from her previous book, 'this lullaby' which was also gorgeous. i have to say though, her blurbs dont do too much for me. i picked up 'this lullaby' about five times and put it back before finally reading it because my friend begged me to read it. lucky i did...especially with 'just listen', i think the blurb could have been better. but oh well, it is still a fantastic book. dont you just love owen?

Happyface, there's another one out right now! It's called Lock and Key. We will also have The Truth About Forever out in July.
